ED Robotics, rookie allstars!
In March, ED Robotics competed in the prestigious American competition, First Robotics Competition. As the only Swedish team, this was an impressive achievement.
The trip to the USA
The adventure began with packing our beloved robot into several bags and flying from Kastrup to Newark, just outside New York. From Newark we continued on to Albany. Once there, we spent several days at Albany High School, where we were warmly welcomed by both teachers and students. Here we had the chance to assemble our robot and make the final adjustments before the competition.

The competition in Albany
The competition itself took place in an impressive basketball arena in Albany. Excitement ran high as we competed against teams from all over the USA, Canada, and other teams from Europe. Even though this was our first time in this competition, it went beyond expectations. We are very proud to announce that we won the Rookie All-Star Award, a prize given to the best newcomers. This is a fantastic recognition of our hard work and dedication.

Lessons and experiences
Even though the competition went great, we faced some challenges on the way home. Our robot got lost in transit, which caused some worry. Fortunately, it eventually made its way back to Erik Dahlbergsgymnasiet, and we could breathe a sigh of relief. This experience has taught us a lot, not just about robotics and competitions, but also about handling unexpected situations and staying calm under pressure.
Thanks to our sponsors
We want to extend a huge thank you to our sponsors, without whom this trip would not have been possible. Their support has been invaluable and has given us the opportunity to develop our skills and represent Sweden on an international stage.
ED Robotics looks forward to continuing to grow and taking part in more competitions in the future. We are more motivated than ever to improve our robots and show the world what Swedish upper secondary students can achieve. Thank you for your continued support!
