ED Robotics ready for the world's biggest robotics competition!
ED Robotics is about to make a big impression on the international stage. Soon it's off to Albany, New York, to take part in the world's biggest robotics competition, First Robotics Competition.
The club has been working intensively over the past months to build and fine-tune its latest robot, Isometric. Now it's official: Isometric is ready to compete.

Meet Isometric
Isometric is fast and efficient. Designed to impress in competition, Isometric can pick up so-called "notes" (round rings that are part of the game) and place them in an "amp" (another part of the game) with precision and speed.
This advanced robot has been created in the workshop at Erik Dahlbergsgymnasiet, but it is truly a product of the whole of Jönköping. The parts have been manufactured with the help of several local companies and institutions:
- Husqvarna AB contributed important components.
- Jönköpings Handelsstål supplied the frame.
- Metal profiles were shaped by Tomas Larsson at LM Metall.
- Makers Jönköping helped with the decals. A big thank you to Arvind Shah!
- Several parts were 3D-printed directly at Erik Dahlbergsgymnasiet.
This collaboration truly shows the power of local innovation and support.
The preparations
Preparations for the competition have been intense and meticulous. The team has spent countless hours in the workshop, adjusting and fine-tuning every little detail. Every member of ED Robotics has had an important role to play, from design and programming to testing and optimization.
What is First Robotics Competition?
First Robotics Competition is not just a competition; it's an international movement that inspires young people to become leaders in science and technology. The competition brings together teams from around the world who have designed, built, and programmed their own robots to meet specific challenges.
In Albany, ED Robotics will face tough competition, but with Isometric leading the way and with support from the whole of Jönköping, we're confident they'll deliver a fantastic performance.
Final thoughts
ED Robotics has already achieved a lot by creating Isometric, proof of what can be accomplished through collaboration and hard work. Now we're looking forward to seeing what they can achieve on the international stage. All of Jönköping is behind you, and we wish you the best of luck in Albany!
Stay tuned for updates from the competition – we're sure it's going to be a trip to remember!
